The guitar legend will receive an Honorary Doctorate from Berklee College of Music on Jin Valencia, Spain. These discussions were often prompted by questions, ranging from topics like race, gender, and caste, to religion, log kya. It was recorded live at the Berklee Performance Center. MANAM (2021) From mother-son duo Asha Ramesh and Rohith Jayaraman, Manam is a 5-track album, born from many evenings of family discussion in the aftermath of the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Jeyaraj and Bennicks, the Cisco discrimination lawsuit, and many more. The composition was put together by Guy Bernfeld, and showcased Indian classical music, sprinkled with bits of jazz. Students of Berklee College of Music, Boston, collaborated with Indian composer and vocalist Shankar Mahadevan to recreate the iconic music of 5 Peace Band, which comprised jazz legends Chick Corea, John McLaughlin, Kenny Garrett, Christian McBride and Vinnie Colaiuta.
